The Box doesn't look right, the line between the axle stand and wheel is definitely dodgy and the rags and plastic bag above the brake cleaner
look like they weren't really there, odd? :?

Hi everybody, first post here, nice to find you.
If you see anything that you don't like please feel free to tell it.

This is an A4 B5 and we installed the RS6 engine. Our only problem is that the front bumper won't fit so we have to make new hood, bumper and wings from carbon.
I will post some more pics in the next days.

The V8 motor does NOT need an adapter to mount to the 01A / 01E transmission.

The V8 uses the same holes the I5 / V6 use. The only one that uses the inner circle of holes is the I4.

That's more like a spacer - not really needed, unless it's got a huge DM flywheel, and with the clutch, protruded too far into the bellhousing.

Early manual S8 in Germany (AHC / AKH) use a SM flywheel, and do NOT require a spacer. Crank boss has the same dimensions as the RS6, and the same 10-bolt setup.

Only the later S8 with the 40V motor uses a spacer, due to the DM flywheel, and has an 8-bolt setup.

I thought the same too, only the later flywheel won't fit.

The only 40V V8 to retain the 10-bolt setup, carried over from the 32V motor, was the RS6. All other 40V motors, for some reason, went back to an 8-bolt fitment, as in I5 / V6.

Bingo!!

What flywheel are you using? That spacer must add at least another 8 - 10" to the overall length?

I installed an early 4.2L V8 32V to a type 85 90 quattro, belonging to dubmeister.co.uk and I used a 6-speed box from an UrS4. I used an OEM 10-bolt flywheel and clutch from a German-spec Audi V8, without a spacer.

I'm doing the same in my '96 B5 A4 quattro, only with an early S8 engine. Only missing part so far is the flywheel. But, I won't be using any sort of spacer. That's the bit I do not understand.

Early S8 (32V) flywheel and clutch. You can also use the clutch from the UrS6 / UrS6+, or even a Southbend clutch designed for SM flat flywheel, as used on big power S2.

You can also use the early Audi V8 4,2L 32V flywheel, but you'll have to relocate the crank sensor, as it's in a different position from memory.
