@Simon, just been through that myself actually as I do live in Belgium myself. The problem is that there are now some agreements between the European countries where for instance the Belgian police has the right to prosecute you through the UK police and so on. 197km/h and 175 are quite serious speeds so, unfortunately I won't expect to have nothing to pay... best advice I could give you? Blame it on someone else, who doesn't live in the EU, a friend from the USA or Australia or whatever!
