Birthday present conundrum

Post by CliveH » Sat Nov 24, 2007 7:32 pm

One of my birthday presents from my good wife, Mrs H, is a Driver Experience Day (on track, with tuition, etc).

The choice of cars is :

Ferrari 360 or Porsche 911 Turbo

HELP! Which would you choose...?

911 Turbo - no question whatsoever. Nice present from the Mrs by the way.

Having driven the 355 & various Turbo 911 it would certainly be the 360 for me.....

I did the 355 day at silverstone the other year and had a great day , drove a 360 last year and it was "ok" . If she really loved you she would pay for both.

i went 360 because i tend to think they're a rarer beast, see loads of 911 turbots kicking around but it's a dear diary day when you see a 360 round these parts

The 911 is only the 996 not the 997 so I would defo choose the fezza, you could walk into a porsche garage and get a test drive in one, the ferrari on the other hand, bit more hard to come by.

Graham, you'll have to explain yourself more clearly, please. Did you :

a. press the wrong button?
b. want to vote for Porsche but someone wouldn't let you?
c. want to vote Porsche but didn't understand the instructions?
d. just want to screw the results up...??

Please think carefully before answering (NB this bit is not a poll)

You're in the age bracket for the typical Porsche 911 owner and with all your northern worldly goods it'll be no time at all before you saunter into a plate-glass Porsche dealer and buy one.
With the above in mind I'd say the Fezza is the best option for you Clive but whatever you choose you're sure to have a great time driving either of them.

Wrong button

I was thinking along the lines of Paz's reasononing, but I am a Porsche man, so whether I thought one day I might own one or not, I'd take the alternative choice and choose the Porsche over the Ferrari.

I reckon the Ferrari...but only if your old back can cope with getting in and out!

Personally I'd go for the Porsche as I've driven a 360 (Challenge Stradale) before and would love a go in the turbo as it's on my wish list! The Porsche is more affordable and within most people's dreams of owning a 'supercar one day'. But for pure sense of occasion you can't beat a spin in a Ferrari, so that's my vote.
