Courtesy Car

Post by toasty » Wed Jul 30, 2003 9:15 am

I've got a A3 1.6 for the day.

Mine's in having the suspension noise looked at.

The A3 does 50-60mph in 3 seconds in third !!!! So god only knows what the 0-60 time must be.

If they can't get the bits today then I may be bringing it to Windsor later, so no sniggering at my new 'ride'

Better still if you get in the car and out the back of it, then we might manage 0-60 in sub 10 seconds!

...jesus it's slow.

Reminds me of when I took my 993 in for an ABSsensor to be changed.
I was expecting a boxster or 996 to play with.
Boy was I wrong.

They sent me packing in a Nissn Micra - Automatic !!
Forget what the ads say - believe me, "you can't with a nissan" would be more appropriate
No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it into 3 figures, even on the down-hill stretch from the top of Reigate hill on the M25 !

I'll bring some bungees and we'll catapault you up the road to get you started

Him indoors did quite well then getting an A3 1.8T when his S3 was being serviced. That nice Mr Collins lent me an S2 when he had my car in for a service .

Sad individual that I am I was reading through the info bits for the insurance renewal and found that - heaven forbid I should ever need it - the courtesy car was very basic. How can they justify charging a hefty premium for a performance car like the RS2 and then offer a 1.2 Corsa or equivalent as a courtesy car in the event of an accident?

Just had some work done on my car by Epsom Audi - had an A4 Avant 1.8T for a couple of days. It sure makes you realise how fast the 'S' cars are !
