eBay replica wheels

Post by MarkB » Fri Aug 10, 2007 1:15 pm

I might buy some New Style RS4 reps for one of our family cars.

Don't want to spend too much money but also don't want to buy some dangerous crap.

So the question is - can anyone recommend a good but not too expensive supplier of replica wheels on either eBay or to deal direct?

I'll probably want to upgrade to Goodyears also rather than just having the cheap rubber.

Thanks
Mark

Can certainly recommend Elite as per Mike's post. Have been to them for the last 6 years for tyres, and replacement rims for the 'beemer'. Very competitive and they know how to put them on without damaging rims !!!!

Well worth a short burst round the M25 to pay a personal visit to them in Rainham, Essex. Just remember to avoid a Saturday when they are VERY VERY busy. :(

Update

Got a price from Elite for wheels and tyres - tyres upgraded to Goodyear Fi Asym's - delivered £730

Also had an interesting chat with the chap there. They have Italian replica's but they also do wheels from the far east, namely China. What he did also say is that they select the supplier carefully also that the Italian wheels may have been forged in China then machined in Italy and marked made in Italy

I also got a price from my local tyre fitter. He can get me a set that will have come from Korea for £800. £15 per wheel more expensive than ones he could get that have come from China.

I don't know what to do.

I have a few more places to try local but I'm wondering should I just go with Elite. They are big suppliers with a good reputation but not local to me if I have problems.

Thoughts??
