If someone can help with this I'd appreciate it.
Just bought a runabout for a couple of grand, and want to put our nanny on the policy for a few months until she leaves.
My insurer won't do it, as she's only 20. Tried Admiral out of interest and got quoted more than the price of the car. That's for me, my wife and the nanny. I obviously didn't realise that I can't use my no claims against the "new" car. Are there any clever ways round this? Perhaps she is the registered keeper and just changes her current policy from her existing car (about to be scrapped) and adds me and the missus as named drivers? Then waht happends when she leaves?
Hey ho, I thought this was going to be nice and simple.
Thanks chaps

RE: Insurance policy question
Try Direct Line, they have been offering to insure cars recently using an existing NCB even if it applies to another policy.. I had the same problem years ago, au-pair was Hungarian and insurance would not touch her.......... I would have liked too
Direct line will also allow named drivers to acrue NCB...
Thanks, I'll try direct line too. She got a quote through her existing insurer as if it were her new car, for a whopping 45 quid additional to her £600 p.a premium. She's 20, only had a licence for a year, already had a crash and her boyfriend uses a skateboard. I've got 8 years NCB and I get quoted £2700.
Bloody Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, I was looking forward to having that car too, would have been handy.
So any other thoughts welcome. Cheers.
