Been out for a good old blast today. Very impressed. Turn in is very aggressive so much so I overdid it and had to correct the car mid corner (close to being in the field LOL). I am used to that corner in the old car but geee this thing fairly puts its nose in, well impressed. Although the RS3 never really had issues with turn in this thing is so much more direct and pointy.

VC is a great tool.

Boot is a good size. Way bigger than the RS3 5 door. Just back off hols and could only get 1 suitcase in the RS3 boot whereas the S3 would easy take our 2 big cases. I don't need a big car as the kids are all up and driving this thing is just the right size for my needs especially now we can get the cases in the boot.

Plenty leg room in the back. I am 6 foot and like my seat right back and there is still room for a big guy in the rear.

The only disappointing thing is the Tyre noise. its on Conti tyres and although it is ok, if they had put a bit more sound proofing in that would feel like a real premium car. Pity just on thing lets it down. I am struggling to find fault with it (only done 180 miles though) so far vary happy.

The only disappointing thing about those photos was seeing the "S" stamped on the seat leather. I have no idea why that disappointed me, I'd own that thing in a second, looks great and if the reports on the Golf R are true, then it's fun n fast.

In terms of details, I've always loved the (optional) extended leather on the door arm rests (and besides the gear stick either side of the transmission tunnel).

That's weird, I see some pics on their side and one is even upside down lol

Not mapping will be a struggle but keeping it for a while I think will be easy I really like it so far.

Found another issue. Engine and gearbox in dynamic mode, if you come out of a 30 and nail it, it gets its knickers in a twist. I think it wants to give you the down change fart and take off at the same time as a result it stumbles for a second or so then takes off. not an issue really just annoyance that should not be there.

the pics don't do it justice the interior is real quality. The "S" does not bother me but agree it adds nothing. It is a fun car to drive not really gone mad yet but so far handling is fantastic and effortless. Not driven a golf so cant comment if its as good or not but can say so far its fast and fun.

yeah my RS3 did not have the extended leather and it looked poor and cheap. Prob the only reason I spec'd it on this one. A little extra can make all the difference.

So wheels spacers fitted. 15mm Front 20mm rear that the max you could go. Apologise its so dirty who said black was a good idea lol

DTUK tuning box fitted until I can get it mapped. The story re the older boxes fitting the FL car is rubbish. Fits fine and done some logging all is good. Makes quite a difference. Happy I only paid a fraction of the new cost (second hand box) Not sure I would have been happy paying £400 for it. makes the car pretty quick, at a guess 350-360bhp??

milltek 3" de-catted downpipe, front pipe and non res centre section ordered. Not decided if I want to buy the rear box or not. Given they are more or less straight through anyway not sure its worth £1000 for a back box. Maybe £170 and fit a "Y" piece valve. Closed exhaust will react as normal, open it will be 3" straight to ground :smile_smoking:

Going to wait until tte release their tte600 early next year. Looking to run around 550bhp then possibly forged pistons and rods for over 600bhp.

Perfect size car for 600bhp + :rocker:

Needs a clean. Not much of a guy for cleaning

Certainly fills the arches with the spacers on. needs a bit of a drop though. 10mm rear 15mm front?? don't want it slammed just a bit lower.

The more I drive it I cant believe the difference the box makes. way quicker than my 8P RS3. Great fun all around car.

Anyone tried eagle f1 asymmetric 3 ?? They are supposed to be very quiet. Road noise is the only thing I cant stand in this car its soooo annoying, other than that I still cant fault it.
