Going for a test drive this week

Post by DazN » Sun May 05, 2013 8:21 am

After moving from a B7 RS4 to a BMW M3 saloon I've decided I want something a bit bigger and the SQ5 has really caught my eye.

Audi in Bolton have one coming in any day now and I'm going for a test drive this week, if I like it they've suggested around Sept for delivery of a new one.

Has anybody seen one yet, or better still driven one?

I'm also looking at the Q5 3.0 and the X5 Xdrive40d, however both don't have the same 'kudos' as the SQ5!

The SQ5 doesn't have 'kudos'. It's a diesel.

I reckon it ticks a lot of boxes for a family car for my wife, and what I like about it is the 5.1 seconds to 60 and 650Nm
And that's out the box!! Chip it and its gonna shift

Had one overnight last week back and thought it really good - so now have one on order!

I had a RS4 B7 for 5 years and tried the RS4 B8 for a day too but it just didn't have the same appeal as the B7. It just didn't have the same feeling of involvement.

SQ5 doesn't have the raw appeal of the RS4 B7 but it is very quick. And the acoustic tricks make the diesel sound good. It also ticks the boxes for me in terms of space, 4wd and speed!
Thought for the moment...

...if some mindless ASBO keys your car as happened to my previous S4 then stay positive...they may have had a moments glory in front of their mates but they only did it because they're jealous of you being able to drive it every day! Who drives wins!
