Anyone know this car?

This RS7 has got my attention-anyone got any knowledge on it please?

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 3214786824

Low miles but I’m always cautious on a Trader who has no website and is working off a gmail account?
A quick check showed it’s not dodgy apart from still being on finance.

I did look at the alloys and not recognise them-any idea what they are? I’m
Supposed to be speaking to the bloke about it today (had it checked out and on the system it’s clean but still in finance that was taken out in Jan this year) but I’m wary and may steer away to main dealership or a more established vendor-‘Ace Motors’ isn’t a limited company (no trace on Companies House) and uses a mobile and gmail account......Image

Trust your gut instinct
No limited Company
Gmail account

I'd keep looking - nothing worse than spending your hard earned cash and the car going Pete tong

Buying cars is a minefield and whilst my current one was from a Indy the main dealer approach is by far the safest (forum members cars notwithstanding of course).

Site says it has extended warranty but that’s transferable I though for a nominal fee? I did that with my 2009 C6 RS6.
Of course if you have extra insight then that’s always a bonus!
Chances are I’ll steer away from that one anyway.

It just says 6 months warranty and doesnt state its Audi extended warranty

For that money, you can get a facelift 15 plate onwards.

Don't take this the wrong way - but your car buying thought processes seem as impulsive as mine! What do you really want from your next purchase?

Personally, I’d avoid the portacabin end of the market. With the used car market struggling for sales, once you know what you want you should be spoilt for choice.

My car history this past year has been car crash TV....loved the C7 RS6 but in a rare moment of clarity the fog of my man maths parted and I realised that I was paying far too much every month for the car. The cheaper replacement (A45 AMG) has been a bit of a speed bump as I probably expected too much and it’s a one dimensional car (to me anyway). Back to Audi RS is the plan but which one is the sticking point!

I had a new S7 for a while. Lovely car just a bit boring even mapped. RS7 would be an awesome car. I see myself in one prob next year once I get fed-up with the M5

I spoke to the guy selling that particular car and he allayed my fears a bit on the whole email and phone sketch (they are doing ‘trading as’ from a master company that checked out under a companies house online trawl), however here were far too many question marks remaining:

1. Owner bought it under finance in Jan and has done around 1k miles since. Wants a smaller less conspicuous car as he lives in inner London and is worried about car crime.
2. Car was sourced from a dealer in Essex who put the fake PE rims on. Deal was offered where the original alloys could be put back on.

All told it was enough to cause sufficient doubt and walk away. In all probability it may well be fine with no gremlins but my gut told me otherwise. Lot of car to have dramas with and be stuck with.
The RS7 certainly ticks a fair few boxes but then again the RS6 per FL is around the same price and I believe will hold more residual value? The RS7 hasn’t had great reviews I read and am not too sure why. I love the exclusivity of them as you don’t see too many around (you could say the same with my current A45, and I hope it’s for not the same reasons-it’s a very divisive car).
In reality I’m more and ‘RS’ than an ‘S’ guy-having said that I was seriously impressed with the new S5 I drive last week. Didn’t feel much slower than the B8 RS5 I also drove (although the RS5 felt absolutely solid and gripped the road like a limpet) and the tech is bang up to date.
The burning choices....!

The RS7 is essentially the same car as the RS6. The key differences for me are that it is not as wide and doesn't look as aggressive. I'm also not a fan of the sportback shape, I prefer saloons but in their absence I'll take an avant over a sportback.
I wouldn't say they were exclusive, they just didn't sell in great numbers. Audi will always sell more RS avants than sportbacks / coupes as that's what many people associate with the RS brand.
It didn't help in my mind that the 7 didn't look as good and cost more. Therefore residuals are lower. But as a second hand car it makes for a great second hand purchase as ling as you are aware when it comes to selling it on you may have to take a bigger hot but I think the hot has already been taken and they will depreciate about as the 6s from now on.

Probably very wise. Autotrader link now dead?
