Looks like it! No idea what the real story behind that one was but too many variables and oddities were enough for me to shy away.
Not too sure why you’d spec comfort seats in an RS7 though? One of those strange ones I guess-there’s a very well specc’d RS6 on Auto Trader at the moment which for some reason doesn’t have the flat bottomed steering wheel-that’s a USP of RS cars I thought.
Always liked the RS7s and they have a monstrous boot (not the same as the Avant obviously) and they tend to come better specc’d as well (HUD seems to be standard) . I drove the RS3 saloon last week expecting to be blown away and while it was superior in every way (bar hard cornering where I could detect a hint of understeer) to the A45 it left me feeling a bit ‘meh’. Totally unexpected as I felt that was my next car. May have to take it out again without any others (did S5/B8 RS5 then the RS3 in a couple of hours) and maybe appreciate it more. Or maybe it’s because I just want a bigger car. Who knows.

Be interesting to hear your views on the RS7. I know everyone says they are just an RS6 in a different body but an RS6 and S7 they are so different. S7 was just a nicer place to be (taking nothing away form the RS6, it was lovely) and I suspect the RS7 would be even better? If they sold less by the very nature of that statement thats got to make them more exclusive?

None of that daft torque steer, arse waggy stuff either. Wonder if less weight overhanging the rear wheels reduces that horrible trait. My S7 was mapped to around 550-570 and I could nail it anywhere with no evidence of what the RS6 used to do.

RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

On another note and same car (I know it’s an RS6 on a thread about RS7s)-what’s up with the gear selector? What was wrong with the original RS one?
Shame as it’s actually a very well specc’d car.

Oh. That sucks as it’s a 63 plate car and cars of a similar age I’ve seen all have the standard one. Looks pretty gash on a current shape car Image

Back on track with RS7s...anyone know this one?

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 3164637597

I bought my C6 RS6 from Carrera Cars and highly recommend them. Not sure if this is a known forum car but it looks pretty tidy and have been sent a video of the milltek exhaust which sounds REALLY good. Am hoping to make the figures work as it looks like a very strong contender.

‘Book price’ may well state £38k but I defy you to find a FL RS7 for that price. Any RS7 (that’s not Cat C/D or epic mileage) for that matter. Pre FL start at early 40’s and FL go from 48/49 upwards. If you can find one that’s a decent spec, decent miles and a FL for £38k then please post the link.....

You're not looking hard enough ;)

RS6 65 plate 38k miles went for 44 few weeks back at auction.

RS7's are poor sellers. Dont be afraid to haggle hard. Even at a stealer

Auctions I’ve never done and whilst they may throw up some bargains I know a few horror stories. A couple of years ago I got speaking to some guys who worked at a large place in the Midlands dealing with a huge auction house on site. Regularly high end cars would come in on low loaders with a very shady history. They would be almost new and driven into the ground by the ‘buyers’ who would just never make any payments and drive it til it broke and abandon it. Car would then get sold for auction, put back to roadworthy condition by the auction house onsite (would see the large tents where they fixed the cars and it was like a conveyor belt of never ending cars) and the. Sold off at auction. New buyers would have zero idea of the harsh early life of their new bargain baby.
Not every car but the words ‘they have no idea about the true history of their new car-I would never buy an auction car’ stuck with me.
Dealers can be slightly more expensive but at least there is an established process and a greater element of trust. Not every main dealer is honest of course, but when you hear stories of brand new Porsches coming in with the brake fluid all over the car as the dickhead ‘owners’ drove it til the brake fluid boiled and the pipes burst -before abandoning it in a Birmingham backstreet- it gives you pause for thought!

Just to update - test drive this yesterday at Chelmsford Audi:

Image

It’s pretty much fully loaded barring a few options such as top view camera etc. Lovely ride (of course) and it was nice to be back in a familiar car albeit in saloon form. Nice to also have a larger car and a good solid lump and decent engine noise, plus some comfort! All massively lacking in the A45.
It’s just under £45k and always in the back of my mind are the residuals. A FL model would be a few grand more but come 1-2 years down the line for trade in time how much of a difference will there be?
There’s also the temptation to go back to the C7 RS6 as they look better I feel and not much more expensive. As has been pointed out on Here the depreciation of both is balancing out more now.
