21 inches!

Post by techyreg » Wed Jan 17, 2018 5:52 pm

Still looking at aftermarket alloys for RS7.
Looked at Vossen VFS1 22x10.5
Or cheaper option TSW Bathurst of same dimension. Will try and add pics of both later.
Anybody any experience of fitting either of theses?

Have just ordered Bathurst. Can't see that your getting any more for the extra money with the Vossens.

Have you asked about bathurst before? There was a thread on here recently where someone asked about the bathurst as I had looked at them when I originally bought my car. But someone on the thread said a lot of people on a other forum were having trouble with them, possibly buckling?

I have researched thoroughly, especially on Audizine, and yes there are 2/3 max that have had problems but absolutely loads that have them and love then. Bathursts are very popular so it increases the likelihood that they will be discussed versus other wheels.

TSW happy the wheel would fit RS7 but not sure they would clear ceramic brakes. Any ideas cos they are a smart looking wheel!

As I said in the other thread, I considered buying just one wheel to try out, if it fits then buy another 3. If it doesn't fit over the ceramics you could possibly use the lower offset wheel for the rear and try getting a higher offset one for the front. Or just sell the one wheel as a spare.
Alternatively, just go for it and buy all 4 wheels. If they don't clear the ceramics I will swap my steel brakes for your ceramics. No charge, I'm feeling generous. Can't say fairer than that!

Here are some pics of the Vossen VFS1 as supplied by prestige.
These are on a lowered car and running 275x30x21 rubber.
Look really nice but can't help thinking Bathursts will look virtually identical.
When you expecting your wheel Persuader?

Quote from Limeypride on Audizine forum who has Bathursts on his RS7 with ceramic brakes.

"My RS7 has ceramics--the wheels fit fine and there's sufficient clearance. I'm not sure if that applies to an RS6 but that's the best I have to offer'

That was the exact same size I was looking at. I'd be interested to see how concave these actually are in this size as the concavity can vary so much between the different width and offset wheels. How long till you get them?
The ones I'd seen previously on an RS7 didn't look very concave.
