RS7 to come

Post by Graeme4130 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 12:27 am

I was in the dealer today and had a decent look at an S7. I've got to say I love the official release pics of the new Rs6 avant, but I'm sure if they apply the same arches and styling to the A7 (if they make the much rumoured RS7), that's going to be one beautiful looking motor car
The standard a7 isn't as small inside as I'd expected and boot space is actually pretty decent

I'm disappointed though that they refuse to make an RS saloon anymore. The RS4 saloon sold quite well but they only seem to want to cater for those who want hatchbacks, estates and coupe / fast backs! What about a good old fashion saloon! They claim that if you want and RS4 saloon you should by and RS5 or 7 but they are not even similar.

Yeah, I agree
The RS5 is an odd looking car and its certainly no RS4 saloon
The A7 however, I think is a stunning looking car

I still have a small part if me that thinks RS cars should only be estates though, but then I guess I'm biased

And that would be fine. I probaably wouldnt even mind so much if all they did were estates, but the do hatchbacks (RS3), estates (RS6, Coupes (RS5), sportback (RS7), convertibles (RS5), but a saloon, no chance! I don't think there is any other type of car they've missed out? RSQ7?

I actually quite like the RS5 from the outside but not enough doors for me. The A7, S7, RS7 just looks wrong to me, the back is too long, so althuogh it has the right number of doors for me I just dont like the look of it. That may change when we see an actual shot of one. I've seen the photos on here of the possible test mule but it clearly doesnt have the RS styling yet. Even the S7 looks just too plain for me.

Snap, i've no need or desire to drive an estate car & am not a lover of either the A5 or A7 as think both look wrong.

Was told the the RS7 is 100% coming next year & although not driven, was seen by the dealers/guests who went to see the new RS6 in Germany a few weeks ago. It has been RS pumped up with flared arches & i'm told looks really good. Would probably consider a 7 over a 6 Avant, however until i see it in the flesh i doubt i'll be getting too excited yet.

Like you guys it baffles me , of all the cars audi now do the four door saloon in the rs version seems overlooked...like I have said before the rs4 saloon outsold the estate on its first outing in the b7 format and what do they do moon it for the b8 strange IMO...

I wonder how many RS5's they sell though as that's apparently the logic for not making an RS4 B8 saloon
The guy at the millbrook driving day said they'd made a saloon in prototype form but marketing said no
I personally think it'd sell we'll, but maybe RS5 sales are more lucrative or estate-saloon development costs are very high, I don't know

RS7 to come

RS7 details now up. A bit on Farceache, but also on Audi UK website.

0-60 in 3.9 is a reasonable start.

£84k starting same engine as RS6, similar spec at a glance.

Going to be £95k with required toys.

Although not a fan of the A7, i was hoping for more external improvement for the RS7.

In the original piccies it looked like the stereotypical RS wheel arch pumping was going to adorn the RS7, however in the recently added show pictures it appears not & externally the RS7 looks almost identical to the S7 if you ignore the dual oval zorsts rather than quads.

Also surprised at the expected price as at £84k it's more than the S8 :audibash:

Looks horrendous IMO

Thank god they got it right with the C7 RS 6 or the RS brand would be dead to me.

Plus another.

RS6 all the way, though that v10 plus R8 is looking tasty.
