Out of curiosity, what is the touchpad with the numbers 1-6 on it for?

Isn't that for earlier C7s that don't have the top spec HDD Nav? So instead of the large single-panel touch pad like in your car Mike, you get the same size pad overall divided into six buttons with the silver bits in between?

Mike will be able to confim, I think HDD was made standard on the S6 around (or before) the facelift, probably similar for the RS6?

Yes mine has a single large touchpad that can be used to draw the letters / numbers you want for input to sat nav, telephone, radio etc like in the photos above. When listening to the radio it lights up with the 1-6 numbers so you can easily select them. Not sure when they changed the design. The one in the 1st post here doesn't look like a touchpad though, just a number keypad.

Thanks.

So the C7 got the facelift when?

Next question...

The image I posted is from a C7 S6. I noticed that when the gearbox is in dynamic, the shifting at low to medium rpm's is quite aggressive and jerky. It was like the B7 RS4 shift with the traction control on...it was always difficult to get a good manual shift in that car when pressing on with the TC on...I used to just turn it off.

Is that normal for the car?

Drop it back into Auto or Comfort and the shift is what you'd expect from a DSG box...

Does that sound right?

Sorry can't help, the RS6 has an auto box not a DSG. And my RS4 gear chnages were smooth in the B7 with traction control on. Rough gear changes was sign of a knackered clutch swithc on the B7.

The facelift C7s (in RS6 form at least) started to make an appearance on early 15 plates. I imagine the S6 was probably changed around late 2014.
