Anyone considered one of these

Post by Oak » Thu Oct 04, 2012 12:30 pm

Anyone fancy one of these?

I'd quite like a Carlos Sainz 4wd turbo version like the old Celica's but I guess RWD is this ones big selling point.

They are a hoot - test driven both and they really are fun. Slow, sometimes frustrating and not the last word in ergonomics or interiors. But on a normal quiet road they are just hilarious.

It's really annoying - I said prior to the 'five year plan' that lotus should build a mk1 élan successor. Font engine, rear wheel drive, simple, practical but most of all fun. Take all the hard to live with day to day aspects of an Elise and make a 25k mx5 rival with Lotus know how and fun and they wouldn't be able to make enough of them. Time will tell I guess if these cars are successful.

Litchfield are doing a supercharger for the BRZ as it is a tad slow.

I looked at the GT86 and loved it - my wife's MX-5 mk 3.5 is a very similar with the 30mm lowered eibach springs and it's a great drive. I would love one of these but they aren't big. Power isn't an issue for me as it makes you work the car harder which I quite enjoy.
