C7 or C8

Post by bobjebb » Thu Dec 25, 2025 1:44 pm

Good to see this forum still going after I joined on 2004!

I started with B5 RS4 in 2004 to C5 RS6 Plus to C7 RS6. And a few more in between.

I’m looking at either the best example of C7 I can find and spend c. £55k plus tune or a C8 up to c.£65k with the mindset of getting back into a brand statement I’ve always loved that I will keep for a long time as the last V8 RS. With its depreciation as a driver of choice

Any thoughts on what others would instinctively do or thoughts on which would represent the better buy?
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Happy Christmas - and welcome back!!

IMHO the best 6's have been the odd numbered ones (C5 and C7). C6 didn't cut it for me, and C8 is simply too big!!

Whatever you get, enjoy it for many years to come :-)

Not a fan of the looks of the C8, so C7.5 wins it for me!

Thank you. Deposit paid on this car. I will check the forum to see if it has any history!

Looks good - nice spec - the only thing I'd consider is putting Creamic Brakes on when the current discs/pad are worn out :-)

Have lots of fun - Oh, and a trip to MRC would mean even more fun :beerchug:

happy New Year!

Dave :drink: :drink:
