Brake Pads

Post by one80 » Sat Apr 22, 2023 11:09 pm

Yes, another brake pad thread…

I’m in Australia and having a LOT of trouble finding replacement pads.
Audi have quoted $8k for both pads and rotors which is obscene. The car was sold by Audi with both of these at their recommended wear limit, but they are refusing to fix themselves even though covered under their AAP warranty etc but that’s a whole other story…

Can anyone tell me the OEM part numbers for the pads and wear sensors?
Are the parts the same as the RS7?
Can anyone recommended alternative pads (Zimmermann, TRW, Endless) etc?
Any other online places (UK, US etc) for these parts?

Hello, just for information after which mileage you normally change brake pads?

First time I've changed them on the RS6 and I haven't had them from new, so can't give you a good answer sorry.

OEM brake calipers are made by Brembo. I fitted Brembo pads last time around. Identical to the worn Audi pads I removed. Another recent thread on here stated who makes the OEM wavy discs.
Brembo pads available widely - I got mine from Euro car Parts in the UK. About half the cost of Audi branded equivalent.

Thanks for the reply.

I ended up going with TRW pads (F&R), so will see how those go.

Still need rotors however.
I've seen the thread on the SHW wavy rotors, but haven't found any EU sellers that are willing to ship to AU...

Hi all,
I'm due new pads and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for road and track?
I had looked into ebc blue and yellowstuff pads also ferodo DS2500 but it appears there are different brake calipers options according to awesome GTi and I need to select the appropriate one.
I've no idea how to check which calipers I have.

Could someone shed some light on this.

Thanks
