HUD Not Straight?

Post by carlos50 » Thu Mar 02, 2023 9:30 pm

Hi all

Im new to the forum with only a couple of posts so far, I just picked up a March 2016 RS6 with HUD, but the adjustment of the HUD on the switch pack isn’t enough to have the speed image sit straight when looking through the screen, it leans back from right to left as I look at it, probably a few degrees which is noticeable, and doesn’t seem to change if its at the high or low point off the dial, anyone ever have this happen?

Thanks
Carl

No, but sounds like the mirror has moved, there is a thread on here somewhere on how to remove and have the mirror re-silvered, maybe start with that thread?

Hi, the image is crystal clear, isnt an indication of mirror problems a poor quality display?

If it is a mechanical misalignment issue then the posts suggested may help checking for that (?).
ELSA win shows the following for calibration (looks like a trip to the dealers):

Strange that it would misalign all by itself; maybe previous owner replaced windscreen and didn't go to Audi for full recalibration(?)
RS6 C7 (2014), Daytona Pearl, 21" Titanium, On Air, LEDs, Sports Exhaust, Dynamic Steering, Red Calipers, ACC, Top View, Connect, Tints, Rear Side Airbags, Rear heated seats; MP4S

Hi thanks for this info, it has had a replacement screen in the past, so Im hoping thats the cause.

My local dealer admitted they dont have the calibration tools, have never done it before and dont even know of the subject.

Thanks again

Carl
