The traffic signs displayed by the car bear only an occasional passing resemblance to the speed limit in force on the road. Not worth it.

Hi wildbore, I don't mean the nav based traffic signs, I'm on about the camera based system, is it poor? Has worked brilliantly on other brands Ive owned so will miss it in the RS6 if that's the case?

Thanks

I am talking about the camera-based system, which I have in my RS6. It is helpful but it misses soooo many changes - it often is better at catching the smaller low-level repeater posts than the main signs, which means you are always 200-600m behind the change. And it is intermittent on overhead gantries (around 50%, I would say). I have never seen it pick up a speed limit from the back of a truck, which some other systems, do, apparently.
It is certainly bad enough that I am glad the car doesn't have any function that tries to auto-match the car's speed to the prevailing limit.

Ok, thanks, that's good to now. My R8 didn't have it, so I just activated the option in the Navigation but my SUV's always have it and its really nice when its in the HUD, so I thought £250 to retrofit was money well spent, will rethink it now though, thank you.
