RS6 PE - Front & Rear Discs Revisions

Hi all

Just purchased my first ever Audi and went straight for a 2016 RS6 PE (34,500m) ;)

After requesting the dealer (non-Audi at this particular branch), to correct a few issues (low tread rear tyres, 38k mile services, broken O/F inter-cooler grille etc), one issue I couldn't get resolved was the breaks. I have had performance cars and bikes before but I wasn't happy with the surface and lip of the front discs. The breaking force also wasn't what I was expecting. The wear limit was such that a skim is not on the books and were not below safe operational levels, I couldn't get them replaced.

Like many others I have found some Aud OEM disks on eBay, but should I be concerned about disc revisions? I am also considering replacing the rears also?

TIA

Kenny.

Hello, since it is PE, dont you have ceramic breaks? I have the 2015 nonperformance RS6 with regular brakes and also not too happy about braking performance. Both Audi and private service says that my discs and pads are ok.

No, I steered away from ceramics. Steel all round ;)

Here in Turkey, ceramics are a big thing in the second hand market for RS6. I do a lot of high speed driving (above 200 kmh) and I am not too happy with the breaking performance. However, my discs and pads were not brand new when I bought the car, therefore, if I change them to brand new, it may improve. I also had some vibration at high speeds, this was solved by surface fixing.
