RS6 was stolen

I had the pleasure of having my house broken into and the keys to both my A4 and RS6 taken, with the RS6 then driven off. Luckily no injuries to use as we slept upstairs, and the car was found a few hours later as the finance company installed a tracker themselves.
It's now with the police, then over to my insurance company. They'll decide what happens to the car as its been damaged inside.
This seems to be a sign aswell, since my last RS6 was rejected back to Audi, and then the next owner had it stolen off them a short while later

I’m so sorry that this has happened, I hope that you and your family are ok.
I’ve just watched the link and I’m furious at how brazen these individuals are, cold calm and calculated, obviously no strangers to this kind of activity.
It makes me feel like hardwiring the key cupboard to 240volts and see whether the smell of burning flesh teaches them a lesson.

Shocking, glad nobody was hurt.
I have a friend in Birmingham, his neighbour was sit in his bay window and had thieves trying to take his car while only 2 feet away, it was only the fact that his Ring door bell set his phone off that he noticed. As soon as he got up they fled, thankfully.
Absolute scum.

Nasty stuff-it's very easy to say it's down to an area (although the Midlands does seem to attract a disproportionate amount of vehicle crime) but this can happen anywhere.
There's an old debate about where people keep their keys at night and I see both sides-the fact is these individuals are willing to enter someone else's property to steal a car (and dramatically raise the risk bar to themselves)-what they would do had your keys been by your bed no one knows, fact is no one was harmed.
To those who harp on about coming downstairs to take intruders on- notice they have weapons in their hands ready. They are also fully alert with adrenalin racing in the middle of committing a crime. You'd be half asleep coming down wearing whatever/nothing into a gang of armed scumbags who do NOT want to get caught. Food for thought.
Unfortunately the 'Tony Martin' method bites you as well.

I do yes, not sure it was connected as was a big time gap between buying and it being stolen. Mine was never seen again!
It's a tough one to combat when they are prepared to break in for the keys, even driveway posts and the like, if they are coming in for the car keys they'll want that key as well. Not sure how you successfully tackle it TBH.
Will you get it back from the insurers?

I sincerely hope they aren't connected, I owned both for exactly 6 weeks before they left me. Maybe thats what the 6 in RS6 stands for me
I'm not sure if i'll have it back, I have asked not to have it back but there is a chance that they'll review and decide its cheaper for them to repair the car and hand it back to me. There is interior damage and I also reminded the insurance company that there will be mechanical damage aswell that isn't easily visible. In addition I was initially told it's going to Copart and assigned them the V5, now if it comes back to me i'll end up being another additional owner on the car which will devalue it aswell.
They've got a link for the ITV article on the theft aswell, apparently all of this will be taken into consideration but i'll have to wait atleast another week before I hear anything

Hopefully all things considered they'll just pay you out despite it being cheaper to repair. Assume the interior was them looking for a tracker?
