I did it!! C7 RS6 Sepang Blue

ImageHello Boys and Girls

I bought my dream car a beautiful low mile, 2015 RS6 in Sepang Blue, 21s, pan roof, Dynamic pack, keyless entry and few other options, 36k miles, Fash, recent big service and brakes, great tyres, overall VGC.

I'm split on the chrome styling pack though and considering trying to get it retrofitted to black optics. Any thoughts or experience would be welcomed, ie paint or wrap, costs and where to get done. I'm in the South.

Also, has anyone done the unplugging of thingy on exhaust to keep valves open, is it safe, u heard it burn more fuel if you do?

Spacers? What size/brand have people used?

Lastly, I spoke to DMS, JF Automotive, MRC and Litchfield all giving varying costs and gains for a S1, so wondering what people's experiences and learn you thought around doing that. I have a balance of warranty until September 22 so might be wiser to wait till then.

I haven't done a launch, not really my thing, have heard it can and will snap driveshafts, diffs and less commonly gearbox/engine issues.

All that aside, what a machine, breath taking performance and handles surprising well on fast country roads etc. Will be going on Alpine Tour In Sept, so looking for to testing on Autobahm and enjoying on some fantastic mountain passes.

Congrats nice car.

I had the MTM exhaust valve opening module which was controlled by a remote. Never noticed any difference in fuel consumption.

Think I was running 12mm spacers at the front and 15mm at the back. h&r I think was the brand.

Just drive it in 'Individual' mode on the MMI and set it how you want it (exhaust, steering etc). It will always default back to 'Auto' but after starting just set it back to 'Individual' and the flaps will stay open

Congratulations!

Purchased my non PE(deliberate decision) from Audi back in March so as soon as my year's warranty is up I'll be looking at a S1. Previously used MRC for my RS4 and they were good and also undertook the Carbon clean but might try Litchfield this time.

Previously had a Milltek on my C5 RS6 and it was fantastic once it was hung correctly but leaving standard on the C7 for the time being.

Keep us all posted.

Congratulations dude.

My route of mods sound like they may help you.

Firstly the optics are crack money! Just for the front grills side and lower spoilers and Quattro grill budget on 2k new. Window surrounds are circa 2k and roof rails again another 2k for the diffuser surround I think it’s circa 800. I personally got the front end and diffuser oem optics. And for the windows and roof rails I got them wrapped. It all looks very very good against my DG paint. The only downside to the wrap is how good the vinyl is and how well it’s fitted.

Wow, that's super pricy, how was your vynal quality and fitting, who done it?

As for the exhaust I initially unplugged them and fitted bungs and they worked perfectly. I noticed little to no increase in MPG but you do notice a tone change when it goes to 4cyl mode. When I fitted my exhaust I decided to get the miltek valve controller. It was easy enough to fit and works as expected giving you the control to open or close the valve how and when you want. I see

Spacers I fitted 15f 12r (I think) and for me that’s perfect. As I need the car to be functional with the boot fully loaded. So no catching whatsoever.

Will see how 15f and 20r work out, fingers crossed

Hope all that helps.

Cheers

Craig.

I can’t remember the vinyl brand used. But it’s very good quality. Tauro Design over in east london did mine. His work is very good and he stands by his work. So any lifting he will sort out.
