'Oil Change Service' vs 'Inspection Service'

Post by eng33 » Wed May 26, 2021 8:31 pm

2017 PE car under Audi warranty, oil change service showing as due in 8000 miles / 80 days, inspection service due in 11500 miles / 227 days.

First probably stupid question, what's the difference? If I had the oil change service done, surely they wouldn't do it again during the inspection service? Or does this get pushed further out if oil change service is done before?

Second question, happy to have main dealer do the inspection service, but I'd rather just do the oil change myself. I have the necessary skills and would obviously use genuine parts, and then perform the oil change indicator reset. How do you think the dealer would look on this?

Thanks.

For the sake of the warranty, and the online servicing record, just get the Oil change done at the dealer too.
They can be quite competitive with pricing and will price match specialists, or use your own supplied parts if they are genuine.

Always doing servicing at Audi dealer after even warranty is over, later you will have all records that your car was cared well after you would like to sell it)

P.s dealers knows what to do and they always ask if you want something extra to do at least in my country
