Went to see the car; initial impressions are that it's wide. Didn't drive it but was taken out as a passenger. The artificial noise is interesting. Doesn't feel like you are sat in an EV, feels very serene and calming inside.....Jesus Christ it's quick. Would leave the 6 for dead....literally instant power - as fast as I would want to go accelerating. Any quicker and it would be uncomfortable......you sit low in the car and you don't get the impression of space as you do in the 6.

Overall impressions are 90%. Personally, I think black hides it's lines and the colour schemes, are at best limited. Nardo would look immense as would Noggy. Have left a £2k deposit on one. Delivery they reckon end of the year.

Got back in the Brabus and it felt like a Horse and Cart compared to a car!!!!

If anyone lives local, then it's in Cardiff until Monday then will be at their Bristol dealership....

I sat in one at Poole Audi, which should be on the road within a couple of weeks. Beautiful lines and trim. My main observation is that the interior is snug compared to the 6.

The Door pillar seems quite a way forward and so your left fighting to get out of a much smaller opening than normal. Seating in the back wouldn’t be comfortable for 4 (certainly not 5) on a long run. The boot space is very disappointing compared to the 6. A few Porsche stamped bits in the ‘drunk’ but that’s to be expected. Can’t wait to see its real life performance though!

If I had to have an EV, at this point it’d be Taycan.

However, I prefer turning petrol into noise.

In a few years EV’s will be much more of a viable option with new battery design and Audi & Porsche (I would say BMW but have you seen the new i4?!) etc now showing that you don’t have to have some soulless west coast US box (yes that’s you Tesla).

Yet more reality to the EV issue:

Electric-car charging wars: the battle for our pavements

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/3ca6 ... 64a10a6fe9

Comments on the article are brilliant.
In the real World many people don’t have a driveway nor a dedicated spot right outside their house to run cables from. Or live in flats ++++
As always it sounds great in theory but they are rushing this through with no plan for the issues that forcing everyone to go EV will create.
As always again the string argument is the creation of the electricity and the huge strain it will put on the grid.
You can try and placate Icelandic teenagers having a hissy fit or the militant green lobby as much as you want….the real world is a very different place!
Don’t sell the fossil fuel car just yet. If at all.
Edited to add this also from Sunday Times today:

What my electric car nightmare taught me about net zero

The black does look a bit dull, dont like those wheels

Mine is due in a few weeks, gone for the Daytona grey and the option wheels and red stiching interior

Test drove the nappy colour one, very impressive car. So so quick compared to my Merc E63S
Can't beat a bit of boost!

How have you found the E63S? It’s one of the contenders for ‘next car’
