Stone Chip Repair

Morning all,

I had a lovely HS2 lorry driver steam past me a few days ago and politely ripped a cars wing mirror off in front of me and dropped some rubble which all hit my car. Furious.

Can anyone recommend somebody who can repair these chips please? They are on the bonnet/drivers side front wing.

Sucks when idiots do damage but cant do anything about it... Worth having a dash cam. Have you got some pictures of the damage?

Yeah very.
He was lucky he didn’t hit the car in front probably would have killed the poor woman. He was going too fast to get the reg or company name and had loads of cars behind him. I also couldn’t get out of the traffic to go after him. Chips Away said they’d get back to me yesterday but haven’t. It isn’t too bad, just really annoying.

Look at chipex, ordered by paint colour works really well for chips and marks.

If the chips are just on the paint but have not dented the panel then best thing i would suggest is to get some paint mixed up and make sure it matches your colour (is it Nardo)? Chipex as suggested would be good to or a local paint supplier to bodyshops who can scan the colour if need be. If your into bare metal then dont forget to add some primer to protect the bare metal.
Build up the paint in stages till its just proud of the surrounding area. Then depending if you have these i would level the surface with 2000 paper followed by 3000 and then DA the area to remove sanding marks. Works well
