Happy to help.
I didn't notice any issues getting dealerships to let me test drive them, a few COVID hoops to jump through and the usual vetting to make sure you're not a chancer out for a joyride but nothing too difficult, I wouldn't let it put you off.
I know what you mean about the standard A6, while it looks similar in photos and it obviously uses the same basic layout, MMI etc a lot of the bits are of a higher standard of fit and finish. The gauges were quite different as were the seats, door cards.
The other thing to be aware of on the DRC front is that it is fairly common to have dampers weeping and failing, at which point a strut is £1,500+ in parts alone.
Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...
Re: Heavily leaning towards an RS6 C7.5...
I wouldn't say it is fairly common for dampers to fail. I can only think of a few on here that have had issues versus the 1000's that haven't. Sure, air sounds more reliable at this stage but I think DRC has a bad rep from the previous RS cars that have had it much worse. I had no trouble with mine and neither did any of my friends that had them either.

I've heard that lowering on springs can cause issues with DRC dampers. Was yours, or any of your friends', lowered?MikeFish wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 4:21 pmI wouldn't say it is fairly common for dampers to fail. Yes my car was lowered when it was about 2 weeks old. I never had any issues with the dampers in 3 years and 30k miles. All my friends had lowered cars too and no issues with any of their dampers either.fawcedj wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 12:39 pmI've heard that lowering on springs can cause issues with DRC dampers.
