Pads with least brake dust

Hey all,

After having new OEM pads and discs fitted to the rear I’ve finally had a titfull! The dust is like nothing ever ever experienced before! After 1 week of moderate driving the wheels look bronze! And it’s even stained the tyres!

Thankfully the bodywork, wheels, calipers and disc bells are ceramic coated so they come up easy. But by eck they look unsightly after even one decent journey.

So my question is what pad have people found to be good for reduced dust whilst retaining as good if not better performance. Sadly Performance Friction don’t do the Z-rated pad (that is an incredible pad on the M3)

I’m also going to upgrade the front discs to the 410mm so will do all pads at the same time.

Thanks in advance,

Craig.

I think they must have changed the pad material as mine are awful as well, but the previous set were not this bad.

Yeah my front pads and discs are no where near as bad. I think I’ll send and email over to my parts department and see what they say. As they should be able to see any revisions that have been applied.

I believe the greenstuff pads are far less dusty. I just had a new set of brembo OEM replacement pads and there just as bad... So greenstuff will be my next brake upgrade purchase. Better stopping and less dust.

Green stuff pads are generally better suited to lighter cars than the RS6.

If you want low dust and something that will actually stop you, Endless MX72 pads would be a good choice for street use. Not cheap but fantastic performance.

Highly rated by Nissan GT-R owners which also suffer from high dust OEM pads.

You won’t like them when you find out how much they are

Yeah I’ve priced them up. Approx 630. But I figure I’ll save on wheel cleaner! Haha.

I have read that they are less harsh on the brake rotor so they may work out cost effective in the long run.

Less dust and consistent braking under hard road use is the main draw for me. And far cheaper than a swap to ceramics.

Only one way to find out though. Will report back my findings once I fit a set.

Yea I looked up the price too 😱

Think yellow stuff pads might be a lot cheaper and with similar properties.
