Noise at slow speeds from back tyres

Hi
Wanted some suggestions In the recent heatwave with windows down I can hear a really irritating noise from the back wheels. It’s almost like the back wheels have a sticky patch on them.
I have continental tyres all round. I’m inclined to get the rear differential checked out.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Flat spots? I had something similar on a B5 RS4 years ago.

Yes had a look at the tyres already no obvious flat spots visible.
Seems to be noisy from both sides ie can hear it if I have the window open on the passenger side as well as the drivers side.
Stumped

Jack up each corner and with the hand brake off spin the wheels by hand to see if they have any flat spots or if you hear any bearing noise

Had the car at Audi for the noise, Came back with usual the tech couldn’t hear it but they recommended rear brake pads and disks needs changing so did that with them but noise still there.
Also checked the wheel bearing definitely not that type of click or tumbling you normally get.
Any other suggestions? I was thinking could it be a noisy diff ? Was thinking of getting Diff and GB oil change done soon.

Get the wheels swapped front to back, an easy way to either rule out or prove its the tyres or rims

I have continentals on my c7 Rs6 and notice the noise increased as they wear. My noise goes away when tyres are new. I am swapping to Goodyear soon

Mine did this first thing in the morning whilst reversing off the drive but at no other times. I put it down to stones caught in the tyres from the gravel driveway.

Hi how would you say they sound and is it rear tyres which are noisy?

Hi all,
I have a similar issue.
I'm getting a drone/ whining noise, starts quiet then progressively gets louder as speed increases (thankfully when it gets to a certain dB it doesn't get louder),
. Doesn't seem like it can be heard from outside as I've drove with the windows down but the noise stayed at the same level as when windows are up. I've recently had pads changed, discs are still good. Swapped all wheels around and tyres have plenty of tread and all running correct psi. I think, it may be coming from front passenger, definitely on passenger side.
Now that I know it's there it's becoming irritating.
HELP!!!

Hi All,
I noticed a whining noise at low speeds from the rear of my car also recently and the garage where I took it for service says it maybe from the diff.
I did not realize but there are two diffs on the RS6 2013 as mine is, one is a sports diff and I had an oil change done on one diff but garage did not do
the other one after the service. When I took car back to see about this noise at around 30mph, I was then told about the two diffs and they checked
the oil in the one that had not been done and said it was like treacle and they flushed it through several times.
I still have a noise so its going back next week for another check!
Hope this helps!!
