Mine was a 65 plate duly loaded one-it was £54k new but luckily I paid £36k for it at the 2 year point. Still felt cheated though. Massively overrated and disappointing. I expected fireworks but got a tinny POS that you have to tune (and spend extra ££ on) to get it to function as it should do stock.SimonY wrote:That's really quite funny. I ran a C5 RS6 for 7 years and then bought a new, 2014 A45 myself and it just didn't cut it for me either although I did keep it for 3.5 yrs. Sold that and bought the RS4 cos I missed a V8 in my life! I'm a far happier man now but would agree with you, I thought the build quality was no where near as good or the AWD system compared to a quattro. Had more fun driving my wife's S3.stevo55 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 10:22 amI went in the opposite direction which was I bought an A45 after giving back my FL RS6 (loaded to the hilt). Wanted a cheaper performance car and whilst it’s an unfair comparison I quickly learned that I’d made a huge mistake.
By far hands down THE worst car I ever owned. An insult to the AMG brand and I wanted to burn it.
As for a FL one keep looking-generally it takes me around 3 months to find the right car. In the current climate-which threatens to get worse, lots of people are/will be seeking to offload expensive overheads as their finance situation changes. Good time to grab a decent bargain so hold off and wait for the right one.

If I hadn’t needed the cash on the resale (cost me £5.5k to get out of the deal) I would happily have set it on fire and paid to see it crushed I hated it that much.
Went to an M3 Competition and sanity was restored thankfully.
Now back in an RS.
