Uneven ride height across rear axle

Post by gary.gary.gary » Sat Jun 20, 2020 9:13 am

Morning!

Only last week when walking up to the back of the car I noticed it was 'leaning' a little. Turns out one side sits about 10mm lower than the other. I have DRC.

Would i be correct in assuming it can't be anything to do with the hydraulics - assuming that when sitting stationary, parked without the engine running, it MUST be sitting on the springs? Right???

If the above is correct, then what could be the issue? The handling seems fine?

Seem to recall all my DRC cars had slightly uneven heights.

I have the same issue and I'm on standard air. My passenger side is approximately 5mm higher.

I put a new post up asking if anyone else noticed about this.

I thought the air suspension was self levelling? If it not level then maybe one of the 4 sensors is faulty. You can buy adjustable aftermarket ones that you can shorten or lengthen until it gets the height right.

You would have thought that.
I'll need to see if there is a fault code showing up.

Aftermarket sensors???

Makes no difference to DRC if engine off or on - it is a pre-pressurised system.
Ride height will be determined by springs etc and 5 - 10mm variation common / normal. You could shim the springs if it bothers you.

Not the sensors as such but there is a plastic linkage between the car and suspension to detect how high the car is. If you change the linkage for a different length arm it will think the car is either higher or lower than it actually is and will adjust the height to correct it. If these linkages are adjustable you can trick it into lowering the car.
