The front camera on the 360 parking system has failed on my car (blue screen with a camera icon with a X over it). Audi have quote me to replace and recalibrate- wait for it - £3,127!

They won’t cover it under warranty as it has a stone chip on the lens - despite it working fine for 2.5 years with the chip.

HazzyDays quoted me around £300 all in to replace it around the time I got the chip, so I find the Audi cost ridiculous!

Has anyone else had theirs replaced and could aby one recommend someone in the South West?

A new camera is £202.46 ish inc vat. You can pick up a used one for around £70 and dont even need to take the bumper off to replace it and not a difficult job to do even for the home mechanic. It will work straight away without needing any calibration but will show in a diagnostic scan that camera needs calibrating.

Thanks for the info. I shall investigate. I did think the camera were around £200.

Might not be the camera itself though. Doesn't it run through a control / processing unit first?

Very true - might not be camera. All others are ok though.

Ok, have you tried to trace the cable to see if there any obvious signs of damage and make sure the plug hasn't come loose? I imagine this will be nigh on impossible but maybe worth a look.

I’ve not done anything yet. But knowing I won’t be getting it fixed by Audi, I will be investigating! I want to replace the camera anyway as the stone chip made the image so blurry it was useless.

Hey BN8959, just wondering if you managed to sort your front camera out? Same thing with mine and reluctant to pay the RS premium in Audi to have it replaced / repaired.

Yes I did. I looked up the part codes and they had quoted for the night vision camera (as I suspected thay had). They then requoted £625 inc vat to replace the camera and recalibrate. For convenience I went with that.

However last night I tried to use night vision and it seems they have broken that now. So it’s going back

Gotcha re NV camera.
Same as your issue, the outer lens has a crack in it from a stone hit. Was hoping in vain that the outer lens could be replaced rather than replacing the entire camera. The more I think of it, it's a silly design. If you use a GoPro in a rough environment you put a case around it, the outer lens on the front camera should be a separate part!
