Hi Shane,

I think it will depend if your car is on fixed (12 month) or flexible (long life Mileage or 2yr) service intervals. If flexible then its any oil to VW 504 00 standard. IF fixed then its 502 00.

My car is on Flex (as I will do less than 10K in the two years) and I have just bought a top up of Castrol Edge Longlife 5w-30w.

You need to check online (if you have registered for MyAudi) as this should show you if its fixed or flex.

Cheers,
Lig.

Thanks Lig,
I think it's Flex and I can't remember MyAudi password and there's no option to reset it that I can see.

I'll check the service history and go from there.

Cheers
Shane

Just got in to the app I guess it's Fixed but it doesn't actually say.

05/04/18 - 20443km with Oil Change
03/07/19 - 41606km

I do around 8000 miles a year so would this be the best service option or Flex?

Mornin'

So why is your schedule in KMs??

Have a look at your computer and see when the next oil change is due (this will be a number of days and you should be able to see from this if its fixed or flex). I think it will be Flex by default and as there has been 20K KMs between services (if the second one is in fact an oil service) then it will be Flex. Which ever dealer serviced it should be able to confirm.

It does say in the manual that you can also top up fixed with 504 00, so if in doubt I would use this...

As for service option, I guess it depends on a few things....

1. IF you are keeping with FASH. (if not then go with fixed and get the oil changed every year). IF so then you could go with Flex (so you only have one service every 2 years which might keep the cost down) BUT I am sure some one will come along and say get the oil changed every year\8k miles because of the oil screen filter thingy blocking.
2. IF you have Audi Warranty, then go with Flex.

I think Audis stand would be with 16K miles go with Flex, then you would have a service every 20K miles or 2 years (or so) which ever comes first, the cars computer would work the timing out depending on driving style.

I reckon I will do about 6ish K per year, and would like to keep FASH so for me I am going to stick with Flex (however if I find I do near 10K in a year, then I would go and get an oil change at my local indy).

I am suprised it doesnt say on the schedule if its fixed or flex. Has your car got FASH??

Heres a screen shot of mine for reference (this is all the previous owner, so looking at this, it could easily be fixed as it has been done every year - but I think the fact that it states Flex shows they have used longlife oil, and of course when I look at the computer I can see it is not due another oil service until around April this year when it will have covered around 31K miles) ....

Morning Lig,
No idea why it's in km's on the app and I can't see anywhere to change it. Car is in miles.

05/04/18 - Inspection with Oil Change

03/07/19 - Oil Change Service

Awaiting Audi to call me back.

Cheers mate.

Just had a mare,
Collecting a client from the local station so thought I'd head to Audi to get oil. On route thought I'd pop into Halfords in stead as it's nearer and I was running late only to find out they had none in stock! Went to Audi (cheaper than Halfords for 1l) and then got stuck in traffic. Left my client standing outside for 45 minutes!!

I'd best treat him to lunch.

Cheers again Lig.

Too often I think, only if you tuned then maybe worth, every 15000km more than enough

Yeah, but it is tuned and I’ve had to replace the turbos once already...
