Puncture Front Drivers Side

Post by ShaneyB » Tue Nov 26, 2019 12:18 pm

Hi all,
My tyre pressure light came on as I arrived at work today and on closer inspection I have one hell of a nail just inside the tyre wall and not on the flat part so I don't think it can be repaired. The AA are coming to have a look shortly.
It's a Michelin Pilot Super Sport but looking on the usual Black Circles, ETyres etc etc none of them list Michelin's??

Asda Tyres (who are good and cheap) list the Super Sports but only the X. My tyre states XR on the tyre wall.

Can anyone advise what the difference is please?

Cheers
Shane

Hi Shane,

I think they will be the same tyre and its just an error on Asda site. You could ask them OR if you go on to Michelins site they have live chat and you could ask them if the X and XR both exist??

I cant believe there are odd tyres on your car?! Its one of the first things I look at when buying as I cant understand why people would mix brands on a car like this?! BUT maybe now its an opportunity to get them all matching  .....

Cheers,
Lig.

Cheers Lig,
They are all brand new too apart from one which has about 4mm left. My guess is two needed replacing so the dealer has put the cheapest option he could on. My bad for not checking the brand, I just checked the wear and tread depth and got £250.00 towards replacing the 4mm (Dunlop) one so at least this is paid for. My cunning plan is to put another MPSS on now, and then when the Dunlops have worn a little more put Michelins on there too.

PITA!

First puncture I've ever had :boohoo:

Hoover packed up two weeks ago... :boohoo: :boohoo:

Many of us have used tyreleader, Camskill and blackcircles for tyres in the past Image, one of them will have in stock or just chuck some mixed unbranded on to get you through winter as I’m sure car will drive like a dream Image.

There’s no way I’d be mixing tyres on a performance car and especially not through the winter months Image
