Afternoon all.
Once or twice I have put the car in 'park' and the engine automatically turns off without me pressing the start/stop button?

Anyone experienced this before?

Hi Shane,

That could be coincidental that the Stop\Start function is kicking in. Its happened to me a couple of times.. (although I hate that function and usually turn it off every time I start the car)!

I was in Individual mode and don't think stop start was activated?

You can disable things like auto stop/start function, seat belt chimes and so on with simple coding

Yep, I've used Carista to do this in the past. They do a free trial too

The stop\start is totally independent to drive select (to the best of my knowledge). Its only off when the button is pressed and the light is on.

Yeah, thanks Stevie, I have toyed with disabling it but I am just paranoid of changing anything while the car is in Audi Warranty. I had an error just after I bought it 'Stop start malfunction' so don't want to give the dealer any excuse to void the warranty....

Lol, my cars under Audi Warranty until year end, it’s never been there for warranty issue yet in 13 months of ownership but has been there for servicing, I’m sure you’d be fine with simple coding adjustments but don’t listen to anything I say as I own a stone chipped high mile low spec unpainted modified mapped car

I am just totally paranoid. I paid thick end of £1300 for the warranty and I know that if there is anything they can pick up on (should I need to make a claim) they will!!

I would like an APR exhaust, (don't know if you have heard of them )... But then I know that if anything should happen engine wise (aka turbos - as is a hot topic) they will blame the exhaust!!!

So I have decided to just enjoy it standard for now, for me still an awesome car in standard guise!!

Yeah sure thing re warranty and exhaust, mods aren’t for all and some like the security of a warranty should / when / if things go wrong....how will I ever get rid of mine when I come to sell

The APR Exhaust sounds great and is a quality product.

This blow turbo topic is coming up more frequently all the time know, possibly for the coverage it got on Audizine to start it off but still believe more frequent servicing and additional maintenance & specific checks by outfits that deal with these cars day in day out helps in the long run

There are some nice little mods you can programme in. I'd be amazed if it affected any warranty or even if they'd detect it.
off the top of my head I did these (amongst others);
Rear lights on with DRLs
Close boot from button on drivers door and from key fob
Made start / stop remember the last setting and inverted the LED so it was off when the start / stop was off so essentially they were both off all the time but I could turn it on if I wanted to for some crazy reason.
stop hand brake coming on when you open the drivers door
Auto release parking brake even if the seat belt is off

Mine does this often when I reverse on my drive and then put into park, for me it’s fine as I have just finished parking so would be turning the engine off anyway.

Mine almost always turns off automatically (95% of the time). It seems to have a sixth sense and always seems to get it right (turning off when I put it in P and I’m going to get out). Hardly ever have to push to stop.
