Re: Turbo options
It’s sickening Baz. Strange thing is there was not even as much as a warning light on the dash when mine was discovered. You’d think the ECU would notice the drop in boost and at least give some sort of warning

Re: Turbo options
Thing that's worrying me now is I've spent a fortune getting new turbos plus all the latest revision of hoses and filters. But because the strainer is tucked away in the middle of the engine and a huge job to get to what if it happens again. In 2 minds whether to get rid of the car now. But i can't think of anything else that comes close when you've got a family and dog with 720 horses under the bonnet

Quality looked very good. I only ran them for a short time before I sold the car. Around £250 each

S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke

C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Lol, stay stock, it’s safer than run 720 hp, and 560 more than enoughbigbaz1974 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:44 pmThing that's worrying me now is I've spent a fortune getting new turbos plus all the latest revision of hoses and filters. Didn't someone on here discuss a mod to move the filter to a more accessible location?bigbaz1974 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:44 pmThing that's worrying me now is I've spent a fortune getting new turbos plus all the latest revision of hoses and filters. Yeh that was me Mike but turned out that some people had issues with installing it, pipes not lining up etc. I had the kit but MRC were against installing it.

Re: Turbo options
The damage was already done with the strainer when the car was stock. All the older models stock or not have the same strainer filterTadass910 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 12:17 pmLol, stay stock, it’s safer than run 720 hp, and 560 more than enoughbigbaz1974 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:44 pmThing that's worrying me now is I've spent a fortune getting new turbos plus all the latest revision of hoses and filters. how many stock cars have failed turbos vs modded cars with failed turbos ?..its a defect that is now coming to light and onto the internet, now everyone's jumping on the bandwagon and giving it big licks like they know all about it.
Easy solution, carry out the recommended additional preventative maintenance as per Audi service bulletin for the issue.
oh, and bore off.
