Akrapovic / Audi Sport Exhaust More Sound?

Hey,

I got my Rs6 2 months ago and the last owner had installed a Akrapovic system on it.

Ive had a Rs7 with Milltek before and in my opinion the milltek sounds so much better then the Akrapovic.

So my question is if any one of you whos running Akrapovic know any tweaks/ easy fixes to get more sound out of it?


Was thinking about adding a x-pipe? or something like that (But i dont really want to experiment with a 9000€ exhaust before i know its gonna sound good) ,

or is it smarter to sell the Akrapovic and buy a milltek?


Would be nice to hear some ideas/input!

X pipes actually make the car less noisy/voilent, at least it did when i did it on the milltek that comes with a (thinny) H from factory.
Not sure what is inside the middle (suitecase) on the Akra so i don't want to guess and personally i wouldn't cut it. Very expensive exhaust and i hope it is more optimised then Milltek regarding flows etc. If you really want so extra noise you might want to cut out the front silencers and replace with straight pipes.
Imho the milltek is not so super in terms of quality (valves tend to block!), after seeing the H structure and welding of it i was also not impressed, not to mention almost all people had the left exhaust hitting the crossbeam (so design flow :s ).

Sell the Akra for around £4,000 and buy the newly released APR Cat Back Exhaust system, easy on the ear and no drone in comfort and a lovely deep growl when in sport / dynamic
The Make up of the APR system is above anything I've been for the RS6/7, from the clamps to the brackets they are all something else.

Getting rid of cats will give you more noise and not ruin the akra in any way should you want to go back or sell it.
A friend ran his RS6 with this combo and loved it.

Peron DPs with Akra sounds good too Mike , but need a map

Milltek vs Akra vs APR vs Capristo vs IPE and other lesser known brands opens a can of worms....

Put it this way, milltek non res new £1600 ish vs APR Non Res £2000 ishh. No contest, APR system quality makes the Milltek look like something that’s been chucked in the skip with the part worns

But picking up a used milltek non res @ around £1k is a great buy and poss the best mod you can do on a stock or stage 1 car

No I don’t work for APR but I’d put my rather large mortgage on them seeing milltek off in the C7 RS6/7 Cat Back stakes.

Yeah milltek most certainly have and maybe you should do some further reading up on APR as a brand.

The APR Exhaust in terms of design, manufacturing, look, fitting and sound outweighs any other C7 RS6/7 Exhaust I’ve seen, purchased and heard to date.

His patter is enough to send Beethoven to sleep.

..a second hand / used milltek non res is a great worthwhile bang for buck buy for a C7 RS6/7 though, I will vouch for that.
