Error when sending destination to my car using MyAudi app....

Hi all,

So just got a SIM for the car and started using MyAudi.

When I send a destination from my phone to the car, it wont navigate to it. I go to 'online destinations', select the destination and I get the following error message :

I was expecting that when I click on the destination, it would just navigate to it, but maybe I am doing something wrong.

I have even tried saving the destination to contacts, but then when I try to navigate to it from contacts I get the same error.

It works fine when I input the destination manually, but that kind of defeats the object of being able to do it via MyAudi....

Has anyone had this? Any help appreciated.

Heh heh, no I don't live at King George Dock, that's where the Ferries leave for Europe ....

So how does it work then? When you send an address, does it come up just like in the first image and then you simply click on the address and it gives you the option to 'start navigation'??

Yes. I never had any issues. It also lists all previously sent addresses in the list too.

Have you activated the SIM card? With an EE card you have to use a mobile device to connect to the cars WiFi then try to surf at which point you get an EE log on screen but you don't need to log on just scroll down to the activate option then you're all done.

Thanks Mike. Its a '3' SIM and it is all activated. I can use it as a hot spot and all works fine...

Yes mine too lists all the destinations that I have sent. The first screen shot is when I have selected one destination.

I have just spoken to Audi Customer Services and they has asked me to send an image of the error message so will see how they respond (not holding my breath)...

The bit that confuses me is the 'destination could not be created' bit... Where is it trying to create it? IF I scroll down on the first screen, so under the address, the next option is store in directory. When I do this it creates the address in the 'directory'. So when I then select directory, the address is in there, but when I select it, I just get the same error screen (screen shot 2).

Lets see what Audi come back with??!!

Ok, so Audi were pretty quick in their response...

After a phone call, they emailed me. I emailed them screen shots as requested and they have come back with the following:

'Upon contacting our technical department, we apologize to inform you that there's a disturbance within the Audi connect services, that is why you cannot send destinations from your app to your vehicle. We truly appreciate your patience and collaboration. Once we have an update we will get back to you. '

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, surely everyone would be experiencing this, if this were the case??!!

I dont really buy this as the issue doesn't seem to be with sending to the car but with the car reading the data.

Maybe there is an connection issue??

I will post an update when Audi get back to me....

Any help from anyone in the meantime, much appreciated...

This might be a silly question, but have you tried other destinations? And removed that one (if you can) in case it's blocking in some way.
That example is not exactly a specific address, it shows as a PO Box number on the Royal mail database, so maybe it's confusing the system?

Yes I have tried about half a dozen. Same error.

Morning all,

So just received an update from Audi as follows:

Please be informed that this is an ongoing issue we are currently facing. We are expecting a solution on week 48 as we were informed from our technicians, that will be nearly by the end of November towards begging of December. Thus we would like to ask for you patience.

Surely others must be experiencing this issue, if this is the case??

Anyhow I will stop using the car now until November \ December.... :lol:

FYI, I got exactly the same problem a few days ago. I have previously sent many addresses to my car successfully, so it looks like Audi are correct - this is a temporary problem at their end.

I had no idea what "complete the address manually" meant so I just moved over to the conventional address input. Glad to see your post as it explains everything.
