Compliments on your car

Post by johnny11 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 5:52 pm

What compliments do you get on your car?
Yesterday while going on my drive a guy stopped and shouted “mate your car is banging” which had my teenage daughter in hysterics 😂

I've had the usual "rev the engine mate" and thumbs up from people in tunnels; also pond life (10yrs old ) on a bike asking me to start the car - when I said no as I'm parked, he said he'd "cut my tyres next time I was about" hahahahah - love the way kids are brought up these days.

My plate tends to get more attention than the car...

Morning all,

Literally a week after I bought mine, I drove to see friends in Norwich (from Leeds). The next morning my mate told me there was a chap in the drive who wants to buy your car!

I went out and there was a chap stood there with his young daughter, he asked if I wanted to sell as he had been looking for one this colour and spec for ages. I told him I had only had it a week, but I was well happy with that! He gave me his card and said if I change my mind to call him!

Ive had numerous cars pull with people level filming. Ive been followed by individual/families just staring and/or complimenting/shouting give it the bean. The best one was a a family (Italian i think) tiered like a football team in front of the car taking photos/selfies - with my kids in stitches saying 'not again dad'. Then on the other hand the Mrs says it looks like an old blokes car... :/

I've not had the car long, but it does get more attantion than I thought an estate car would! Even the other half has noticed it. Today there was 2 groups of kids pointing, one saying what it was (had the window open) and a lad in a VW transporter filming it on the way past on the motorway. There was me thinking the car would blend in!

I had a dual response once. I was stopped at a pedestrian crossing when a chap crossing said “Rev it” so pop pop bang from the exhaust. Another person crossing called me a “F**king prick”. For scaring the sh1t out of him. Hahaha

Always have the weird stare as in to say “what is that” but once in the Dartford Tunnel the traffic was slow (15ish MPH), meaning dynamic mode, manual, 1st gear. We had these lads in a BMW filming trying to keep up every time we floored it which was a good laugh.
