Gear box oil change

Post by ics3s » Tue Jun 18, 2019 4:05 pm

Hello guys.

RS6 2014 pre-facelift

Can anyone tell me their experience after making the gearbox oil change?
I now have 60k miles (95000km). I heard something that some poeple had issiues after the oil change. Should i do a full oil flush or just the oil that drips from the oil bolt and pan?
I know that zf recomneds to change it at 50-70k miles (80-120k km)

Thanks

I had my previous car serviced at ZF at 100k km, was still performing like new when it sold at 180k km.
Worth it imo.

Audi advise it’s sealed for life, ZF who make it say service every 100k miles. Take your choice but I went with the people who make the box and the oil was black and the magnets in the sump covered in gunk.

Well worth doing, especially if your thinking of tuning the car

Will change it, already found a Shop that worked with a lot of zf 8hp. Will want to male it a stage 1 next year. Did anyone had any problems with the 630-650hp tune after 60k miles?

I have the option to tune it at MRC. Are they good? There should also be a tune for the gearbox included?

They have a decent reputation but unless you live local to them or have funds to transport your car to them when you need to, may be better with a local option.

APR probably has the biggest customer base on this platform and a franchise network. No right or wrong.

@gsc i have them both in the same city. I live in Bucharest, hope they do as good of a job like the ones from other countries. I presume its just something like plug and rewrite the code. Now i have the non res cat back from Milltek, should i change the air intake also? Or stock is fine?

Why you should change intake? By the way if your car is stock and only has Miltek no need to to any remap, unless you change cattles Downpipes then you should definitely do remap

Can someone give me the exact gearbox name? Is it the ZF 8HP90? Anyone have a video link how to change the oil?

Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

The ones that did a full oil flush or was not done properly maybe. Have 2 firends with RS6 and a couple with BMW's that have ZF gearboxes and they all changed the oil at a ZF certified partner with no problem afterwards.
