I think I have a pair of 12mm spacers and bolts in the garage.

I must admit I loved the look of the spacers on my older C7 and really fancy doing it to the PE, but I'm always a bit worried about the extra stress of the long bolts and considering a larger ET wheel. I would imagine either way, if it failed and the wheel came off the insurance would be invalidated.

That said, I'd probably do it again as the wheel just look too far in to the arches currently.

Has anyone noticed how the PE tyres seem like they are stretched on? My old 2015 FL looked "fatter" on the road, even before the spacers.

Without going into all the physics involved, don't worry about longer bolts - they are actually less likely to break than shorter bolts! (Basically if you apply a given strain to a longer bolt the stress is less as there's more length to absorb it).

Fit your spacers and enjoy! :bigblink:

Never heard of any bolts breaking and I personally have run them for years.

So, 2015 face lift with 15mm rear and tools in the boot, perfect!

2017 PE with standard everything, no weight in boot, looks too small and I could swear the wheels look narrower as the rubber is stretch over the rim a little

M3 with 30mm wider ET, too much as it rubs.

I reckon the sweet spot for RS6 is 20mm rear and 5mm front, if at all. You can feel the car tramping on the white lines a little and I'm pretty sure someone doing a 4 wheel alignment would cringe, but it sure looks good!

Apologies for the autorotate, iphone PITA :-|

With the same make and size of tyre?
The RS6 came with 3 different brands of tyres and all have different side profiles.

All are 285/30/21's, the blue car had Michelin Pilot Sports and I kept them as that, the new car (PE) came with Pirelli's although I must admit I'm not a huge fan.

I'll get rear facing low down photos of both cars this next few days, a mate has bought the blue car so I still see it (and miss the sepang)...

I think the difference you are seeing is nothing to do with it being a PE, just different side profiles of different tyres. After all, the PE came with the identical same 3 tyre choices as the non-PE.

Hi all, from a C7 newbie....

So a friend has told me that I have to get some spacers as 10mm each corner will make such a difference?! Couple of Qs...

1. Will this effect the handling at all?
2. When I go on holiday to France fully loaded, will there be any rubbing at all (I assume 10mm will be the safest option)?
3. How do you get in touch with 'Revolution'? There website doesn't work?
4. Also peeps seem to be mentioning that they are on Air sus, I am on DRC, what difference does that make (in terms of spacers)??

Tyres are 285s on 21s Michelin PSS's.

I am just reluctant to touch anything if there is any chance what so ever that it will cause me some issues, mainly with rubbing.....

Cheers,
Lig.

I’ve ordered my spacers. 12/15 but not from revolution as site is down.
Will post pics when I get them fitted

Hi Lig
To try and answer your questions:
I run DRC with 295 section tyres and 5mm spacers, so same overall offset to the outside of the tyre (+10mm) and can just get rubbing at full compression on the suspension (there's a very fast dip in one of my regular roads and I can just get rubbing if I hit it fast enough!! So I think you'll be fine.

It won't alter the handling in any perceptible way, but I would strongly recommend gatting the geometry checked when you've had them on for a few miles - the C7 is very sensitive to the geometry being spot on.

Enjoy! :FIREdevil:

Hi Dave and many thanks for your response.....

So just to clarify, with my 285 tyres and 10mm spacers, it will be very similar to your set up and so yes, under full load I could get some rubbing, is that correct? In which case I think I will leave as is. As I am not too bothered but I am sure it would look a bit more aggressive 20mm wider...

Cheers,
Lig.

Eek no one mentioned rubbing!

My PE is on 185 continentals. Hopefully no problems with 12/15 combo in an in lowered car!?

I had 15mm spacers on the rear and lowered 40mm and had no running. Front rubbed with no spacers and 40mm springs.

Aren't 295/30/21 tyres a higher profile so more prone to rub anyway?
