My point is simply that they try to wash their hands of the whole car, just because of a remap. Seen / heard it many times. If the original ECU is returned to the car, there is no argument.

Not really, you’ve still modified the car and by the terms of the warranty they can decline a related claim.

Headlight was just an exmaple. Another example as we're being pedantic now, the small bubbles of rust on both of my RS6 2015+ cars on the gloss black rails - Apparently because the first car ws TD1, *all* warranties are void, go away....

Headlight controller I said.... and no warranty because the car is reampped, a different excuse to the body corrosion warranty event thought the corrosion is on a different part of the car to the "only" painted front bumper (stone chips). Apparntly we should drive around in 80k mile cars and not have the stone chips painted, in case a different part of the car corrodes.

My point is, If they see the car as modified in any way software wise, my local stealer seems to think it's a get out clause for all warranty work. Hence the spare ECU being used to run around and original going back in if there's an issue. Not being used to duck out of an engine / drivetrain claim because I'd simply uprate the parts and take it on the chin.

They should stick to mapping Datsuns

Go to MRC or APR for vag tuning

I must have a crap local dealer then, they actually refused to look at an issue which was electrical due to "the unknown". I mean it's not like I've got neons hanging off it, it's a £90k car ffs :)
