Potential new owner...

Post by one80 » Sun Apr 14, 2019 1:30 pm

I'm considering a RS7 for my next car - currently have a W204 C63 Performance Pack Estate.

I've had a bit of a look around and there don't seem to be too many issues with the C7 aside from brake judder and the 21" wheels?
Is this issue easily fixable with different pads and/or rotors? If so, what rotors are people using?

Are there are other major issues with the C7 RS6 that people are experiencing?
Any major engine/turbo/gearbox problems?

How do they go on the tyres? The C63 EATS rears...

What are the main factory options in Australia?
Does the performance pack come with the sports exhaust etc?
Does it come with a standard pet barrier net across the boot (ie a roll-up one)?

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks in advance

Don't know about Australia but in the UK the Performance comes with the sports exhaust as standard. And it has a roll up cargo net as standard (as does the non performance too). This is not meant to be a pet barrier though.
Not bad on tyres either for a heavy car with 6005ps.
Not had any issues with brakes in over 30,000 miles. If you use them too gently they end up vibrating but make sure you use them properly and you'll be OK.

They are not bad, the good thing is that they all wear down at around the same rate, below is an example of this from my recent service:

On my M5 (F10) it was not uncommon to go through 3 sets of rears before doing the fronts!
2020 C8 RS6
2019 F90 M5
2017 C7 RS6
2016 F10 M5
2010 C6 RS6
