Finally got round to fitting the new brakes! Bells and Rotors, cross drilled. Larger 410 discs on the front using spacers on the calipers. Brembo Pads all round.
Big thanks, to Jamie at RB Racing for supply of the discs

, MikeFish for sorting me a good deal

, and LeeRS6 for pointing me in the right direction for some good priced front Brembo pads

Still bedding the discs and pads in so can’t comment on performance.
Fitting of discs and pads was all straight forward, and no
Vagcom was needed. (Unbolted the rear handbrake motors to do the rears).

They certainly look the part, will be very interested to see if there's much difference in performance.

Pirelli’s!!!!!! I know!

I read loads of poor feedback, and I even had the inside blow out on my old Pirelli’s! But I still bought another set!
I like the sidewall profile!!!!! Shocking I know! But saying that, I can’t really put the performance of these down. Running 680BHP and they grip! Yes if it’s wet or damp they don’t grip too good then, but surely what does?
I haven’t tried the Mitchelins everyone raves about. May be I be tempted on the next time
Got to admit the side wall is pretty though!!!???

That is impressive. Interested to see what the durability and resistance to warp is, wonder if there is any play in the calliper under full braking with the spacers.
Are we allowed to ask how expensive?

Why are there spacers on the calipers?

Why are there spacers on the calipers?
These discs are 20mm bigger than OEM (410mm) so spacers are needed to move the caliper into the right position.

More of an adapter bracket than a spacer.

No I don't think so. Seem to recall just a small adapter. Can't find a photo of it now.

I think you just use long calliper mounting bolts plus the spacers to move the callipers.
The spacers probably aren't exactly 10mm because of the geometry.
It's a mod I did on another car. It took a bit of iteration, but it turned out to be very effective.
You can only do it this way, using spacers instead of brackets, if the calliper mounting bolts are longitudinal rather than transverse. The vast majority are transverse.

How is your brake set holding up as interested to hear your thoughts on the bigger brake set up
cheers!
