Oil Service - how much?

Post by crashley » Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:38 am

So, my car's on around 31k.

Just been quoted by Ipswich Audi:

£745.97 for oil & inspection service including pollen, air filer
- I will be supplying the oil and plugs as it's running a Stage 2 map.

Now, if that's the rate, then fine - but this strikes me as a bit daft for me supplying the oil and plugs.

What's the consensus?

Ash

Why use and Audi Dealer? Surely your warranty is void if your running Stage 2? Not be better off using a well recommended specialist?

Sounds steep to me. It's probably worthwhile ringing around to get prices for comparison and then go from there.
RS6 PE - Current
RS4 (B8.5) 2015 - Sold
A4 3.0 TDI Quattro BE Avant - Gone
Focus ST170 - Garaged

Entirely for re-sale. I don't rate Audi dealers at all from previous experience having had a B7 RS4 for the last 6 or so years. Much better service with my local indy who I trust implicitly. I would take it to Banbury but I'm not in a position to faff around leaving it there overnight (and get lifts/trains/buses etc).

But then he can't sell it with full main dealer service history.

Also worth making sure the Indy is registered on the Audi erWin system otherwise they won't be able to update your Digital Service Schedule!
My indi charged me £200.00 for cash for an oil & filter change including inspection & brake fluid change.

I get ya

My VAG Indy is bang on...half the price of Audi...i supply the oil and parts...they update on line servicing.

However I’ve had two audi services to keep “good will” for any Warranty issues....but that’s up on three months after that couldn’t care less.

I’m with Chris on this one, more frequent VAG Indy specialist visits / servicing / fluid changes would make more of an impression on me..Image

My Warranty for what it’s worth is up in Sept Image

Audi offer goodwill on some faults even after the warranty has expired. I recall an RS4 getting a new engine for free. More chance of this happening with a full main dealer history. I know I had a gearbox replaced for free by alfa a few months after my warranty expired so I'd rather pay a little extra for it.
