I don't have an RS6 anymore but when I was looking into it a lot of the issues pointed towards the fuel pump - I never got mine changed though.

Was your car stock when fuel pump failed? And what mileage was it? Thanks

It never actually failed but a few "experts" pointed it could be a faulty fuel pump.

I got the car on 20k miles and it was doing it from the get-go. Mine had a Miltek exhaust and was mapped - I kind of just put it down to the mods, but yours being stock and having the issue removes that thinking.

Thanks for information, appreciate, I also have Miltek none resonated exhaust, but as you say stock cars may fail less. Why you sold Rs6? Cos of problems or just got bored?

Loved the car but it was a 2015 plate and I just felt like something was going to go wrong with it! I had no reasons to think that but it was out of warranty, and due to the ecu being mapped no warranty would cover it.

I went to a 2019 F90 M5 - I am loving the fact it is much more of a drivers car, on the back rounds it feels much lighter and you can smash it through the corners, it is also 3s to 60 so just feel quicker.

I am going to try and pick up a second hand C8 RS6 when they start cropping up, with the nippers and dogs you just can't beat the estate :)

I would hazard a guess it is the high-pressure pumps - it just didn't add up to me, it was always after running the car for 30-90 minutes, anything under that or over and it would start first time!

I had this same problem on my 2014 RS6 with the exact same symptoms. Audi checked all fuel pumps checked all pressures, turbos and all pipe work. The only problem they said they found was that my exhaust valves wasn’t working, they fixed the vault with the valves and touch wood I haven’t had the start up problem since.

Very interesting, the valves on my miltec didn't work. Could well have been the problem.

Exhaust valves? You mean when you change from comfort to dynamic valves open fully, wd 40 can solve problems with rust

So my exhaust valves were constantly open no matter what mode I was in. If you pushed valves with your hand they would move freely, Audi said there was a problem with the valve system and it was replaced. Audi told me If there is ever a fault with the valves they go in to the fault position which is fully open at all times.

I'm surprised to hear that an open exhaust valve would stop the car starting. I had mine permanently open for over 3 years without a single start-up issue.

Audi never actually said that was why car wasn’t starting. When car went in that’s all they could find wrong with the car. Since then I haven’t had a problem with start up could just be coincidence.
