Mar 16 vs Nov 17 - any big differences

Post by tonybrown5 » Sat Feb 16, 2019 10:02 am

Forgetting the options are there any real updates between a Mar 16 reg car and a Nov 17 plate? Any MY updates that make the 67 plate the one to go for?

I've a deposit on a 12k mile 16 plate Panther black performance with dynamic pack, park, assistance but keep thinking have I made a mistake and should opt for a 17k mile white 67 plate - Pan roof, assist, park but no dynamic. Diff in price after all negotiations is about 4k and the 16 plate will come with 2 years approved used warranty (also negotiated in).

The only difference I can think of was the apple car play option on MY2017. Can't think of any other difference.

I think they will be similar (not looked at the ads), so it’s down to option preference and mainly the dynamic pack. I personally much prefer DRC somit had to be dynamic pack for me. I also wanted adaptive cruise. Those were my two main requirements. If not enabled, Apple CarPlay could be activated on the 67 plate easily but I’ve not found a way yet on my 16 plate.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've read some horror stories about a dealer in Knaresbrough, over the past couple years.....just do your homework prior to purchasing. Personally, I think white looks too much like a large kitchen appliance with wheels - very few on road, never seen one; might impact residual come resale time. whatever you choose, when you are sat in the drivers seat, you will love the car....

Thanks again all. Not fussed about car play as I'm an android user :)
Think I also agree on the white, It's just the 18 mth age gap that's niggling me hence checking if there were any major differences but both are still the facelift cars.

White is bound to be harder to on sell. You don't see many (any) white RS6s for a reason!

Doesn't sound like you are in a huge rush so if you are having doubts then perhaps step back and keep looking. New cars come up for sale almost daily.
Currently running:
18 plate Lamborghini Huracan Performante (5.2l of V10 naturally aspirated craziness)
67 plate RS6 Performance (fully loaded)
66 plate Range Rover Autobiography (for wafting around)
16 plate Mini Cooper S convertible (lots of fun but rather skittish when thrashed)

Favourite car ever owned:
1971 Citroen DS21 - The Goddess (pure art on wheels)

Don't either of the Nardo cars at Redline have what you are looking for?

Unfortunately not, the 2 must haves for me are rear camera and adaptive cruise.
Tbh I am 99% on the black 16 plate.

Does rear camera not come as standard on the RS6?

It's an Audi - nothing comes as standard

The 2 nardo greys have camera but not assistance pack.

I was just going to say, buy the car you want and retrofit both options ! The rear view camera is certainly available at £795 plus VAT, but I have to say I am surprised to see adaptive cruise isn't listed. I'm surprised simply because I'm pretty sure they list it for a lot of other Audi's. Maybe its worth an email to these guys to ask the question about adaptive cruise ?
