Audi warranty

Car got recovered to audi as had pool of water in drivers footwell on Thursday, got a phone call from my local audi dealer yesterday to say the front passenger and rear carpets were wet. They said they will have to strip car out to find where it’s coming from, but the audi warranty will not cover this as it’s not proven it’s a manufacturing fault. I laughed and explained the car was bought from an audi dealer last August is bog standard so it will be a manufacturing fault. Anyway I have had to get audi customer service involved as this totally unacceptable. I have contacted the dealer I bought it from who will only respond by email and will not speak to me on the phone so I’m thinking there’s something they are hiding with this car. Will see what the update is on Monday.

Pollen filter enclosure not properly closed when filter was last changed? That wouldn't be covered by warranty (does it have a full Audi service history?)

Just out of interest does anyone know if Audi charge to carry out diagnostic work if you have an Audi extended warranty? I know they don’t with the manufacturers but been told there is a charge to diagnose a problem when you have an extended warranty?

Depends on stealer. After 3 years, the labour rate is at a reduced rate anyway, and usually its 1hr labour. Warranty covers the cost of the diagnostic if the full claim is honoured.
Or you can do a VCDS scan and take it in get it attached to the job card. So they cant blag you with information which you knew about anyway.

Whats up with it ?

Handbrake switch playing up VCDS scan shows an issue so will take it in.

Update on this, I informed the supplying dealer within 6 months of purchase that there was a fault with the car and potentially this was there before I bought the car, so under the consumer act of 2015 as long as it within 6 months of purchasing the car the supplying dealer has to prove it wasn’t there when they sold the car, but dealers do not check for leaks like this. So a bit of too and throwing and the supplying dealer is picking up the car next week, dropping me a courtesy car while they look for the issue.
