reply to text messages on mmi?

Post by Paulm » Thu Feb 07, 2019 1:39 pm

I can read text on my mmi but reply does not seem to be an option. I can forward the text but not reply.

I have "new" in the bottom left of the screen but greyed out. Got to be a way to reply. Need some investigating

It’d take forever to reply without a touchscreen. Better off using CarPlay and getting Siri to do it.

Sure it's wad only also . But I do what Db does it's great, annoying as all the new VAG products have a great system . C7 Software updates and mmi has been lazy, don't get me started :audibash:

I don't have carplay. don't think its a 2 min job either to get it on a 2015 car. I normally ignore text when driving. just thought it would be handy to reply through voice commands. prob more hassle than its worth. in all honesty the ability to read is prob enough, anything that requires a quick response I can just pull over and reply.

I agree that this is a crazy situation. On my C6 texts could easily be answered using voice control. They could even be read out! I can't understand why a newer car has gone backwards in terms of technology. It drives me mad!

I can reply to SMS in mine albeit they are preset phrases. I couldn’t when I had an iPhone connected but now I’m OnePlus 6T it works.

that's interesting, thanks. I have just ordered a new phone, sick of apple and I-phones. Bought the Hauawei pro 20 comes on Tuesday. Will be interesting to see how it works in the car
