My drivers side doesn't heat, and it's annoying!

Anyone replaced theirs with a glass other than from Audi at silly prices? If so where from?

cheers

In case anyone else has this issue I thought i'dd take the mirror out and have a look.

Surprisingly taking it out was very easy with my plastic trim removal tools.

On doing so all looked fine but the two wire connectors looked a little corroded, so with a little bit of fine sand paper I cleaned them up as best I could and low and behold I now have a heated mirror.... happy days, when the weathers better i'll clean the connectors a bit better.

For once an easy job.

My drivers side mirror glass is currently being replaced at the dealers. Passenger one works fine!

Thanks for this update and great you got it fixed. I am hoping I have the same problem with mine. For removal is it just a case of prying it out from the outer side of the mirror? I imagine there are 2 or 3 clips holding it in place?

Sorry, only just seen this so a bit late - I used the plastic tools you get for removing car trim, yes, just pry out.

Cheap little suction pads from amazon, like the ones they use when replacing windscreens work well too.

Thanks both. I did manage to get the mirror out, small suction cup and some string to help pull from the back. Although, cleaning the contacts as best I could didn’t do anything, then a little copper grease allowed it to operate for one heat cycle but has now stopped again :(

Maybe time for a small warranty test..
