RS6 On the Drive at last

As of 19.1.19 I’m the proud owner of a Sepang Blue RS6 - I picked it up yesterday from Guildford Audi and drove home to Devon. It’s fantastic and I love it like no other car I’ve ever owned.
It has an Akropovic full system, which is just right for me in comfort and brings out the boy in me in Dynamic, with its pops and bangs on overrun and gear changes.
I also love the HUD and the way the screen between the dials can be changed to a map etc.
My car also has the B&O sound system and I really enjoyed listening to the radio, when I wasn’t listening to the exhaust.
All in all, I’m very lucky to have one and wish I’d done it sooner - it’s such a life enhancing car. I’ll look forward to many happy years of ownership and participation in this Forum. C

Congrats! Great spec on that car. Looked like someone had taken care over speccing it up right in the first place. I have the Akra on mine - how do you find it? How is the B&O as well? The Bose sucks...

Bugger, I was hoping you would hate the Akrapovic and sell it to me.
Well done mate. Sounds like a cracking car and a great spec. Now we need some pics of course.

Will be interesting to hear Chris's view as the newest RS6 owner on here but here is mine. The B&O is good but needs a good music source of course. DAB is great, normal FM less so. With a little fiddling in the sound settings you can get very balanced sound where everything across the range (low/mid/high) sounds very clean. Bass is amazing. Mid-range is very strong. And you can turn it up VERY loud and there is absolutely zero distortion.
So all in I think it is excellent, but that's only because mine came with the car and I didn't pay £6,300 for it. That is a ridiculous price really, and if I was speccing a car from new I would just take the standard system and then spend half the money with a proper car audiophile
Shop to upgrade components. That way you would probably get a better system for half the price.
When Harman Kardon bought out B&O's car audio business a couple of years ago they jacked up prices.

Thanks Everyone for your replies - I'll get some pictures posted when I've had a chance to clean it. It's filthy after a very wet drive home yesterday - epic rain as I drove South West.
I've realised I don't have a SIM in the slot and was thinking I'd get a data only one. Does anyone else do this and what data allowance do you have / think is required in order to allow the Google Earth bit of the SatNav to work etc?
Thanks again,
Chris

I use a Three sim which is c.£25 for 12GB over 12 months and plenty for Google maps etc - just don’t let the kids use it as a hotspot!

I use EE as its 4G (facelift is 4G, prefacelift 3G, not that speed is an issue). And I normally go for 2GB a month. Usage mainly depends on how much the kids use on their ipads with
YouTube etc on long drives.

Chris, who is your phone contract with and what data allowance do you have for that, and do you actually use it all each month? I am with EE for my phone and have the big daddy 100GB data plan. So what I do is buy other cheap EE sims (literally the cheapest data sim they sell - I have several for ipads, cars etc) and then "gift" the data across to those sims from my monthly phone allowance (the 100GB). It's all done in the EE app and is super easy - you just have to remember to do it each month.
Don't know if you can gift data between sims on other networks but they all tend to copy the features of each other so perhaps you can.

Congrats on your purchase, an RS6 with great spec - look forward to seeing some pic's
I use the following offer from Three where you get 200Mb of free data each month. So after the indicial purchase of only putting £5 on the SIM I've never had to top it up as the 200Mb
of free data servers me OK for the car only stuff. Obviously I don't have any other devices using the car's Wi-Fi, so if don't intend to have any other devices using the data then this is ideal.

Thanks for the tip, I'll ask O2 if I can do this, as never get through the 3GB data allowance I have with my phone.
