Found something new today

Only being several weeks into RS6 ownership I am still discovering stuff with the car. Today's, pretty cool, discovery is that when driving on the paddles and with lap timer on the display you get coloured lights in the heads up display showing the revs / prompting gear changes before redline. Just like on a Ferrari steering wheel but in the HUD. Me likey. :jump:

Wonder what else I haven't found yet. Maybe I should actually read the manual! Nah. :assflash:

I tend to always drive in lap timer mode as this is the only way I have found to see the oil temp. I find that a little surprising and would have expected oil temp to be more easily read. Am I missing another way to see it?

Nope, it's only on the lap timer.
You also get the boost gauge on that screen and the shift bar / lights.
Did you notice the boost gauge goes red when the car is overboosting?

Boost gauge. Hmmm. Haven't spotted that yet. I presume you only see it in the cluster display not in the HUD? And what does overboosting mean, and is it bad?

Boost gauge is on the DIS with the oil temp. Not to tbe rev counter.

What is overboost? Where is the eye rolling emoji when you need it?

The standard RS6 has 700nm of torque. The Performance has 700nm too but can overboost to 750nm when required.
In the real world, that 700 is more like 770 (mine recorded 774nm) and when overboosting mine hit 888nm instead of 750nm.
